I Am Beautiful - Candace Glover
00:00 / 00:00
"...only one part of a village"

In 2002, a visionary seed was planted the heart of the organization's Founder, Corisa C. Myers. She knew that she wanted to make a difference in the lives of girls who suffer in silence and find it difficult to cope. She can recall having a conversation with a mentor and receiving a positive response from him. This further encouraged her. She continued to work on the proposal and prayed that God would show her how to carry it through.

After working with youth in the child welfare system and seeing how trauma and crisis can negatively affect youth in various areas of their lives, as well as communities as a whole, the vision expanded. After much thought, prayer, and planning, what was once a mere seed has now blossomed into 4 the Healing in You, Inc.

Corisa C. Myers received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California

State University, San Bernardino and her Master’s degree in Human Services

with a specialization in Social and Community Services from Capella University.

She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., a community conscious action

oriented organization, as well as Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. As the

mother of two young girls, Corisa’s passion for seeing young girls recognize

their strengths, triumph over their adversities and successfully navigate the path

towards their destiny have been the motivating factors behind the establishment

of 4 the Healing in You, Inc. Since its inception, Corisa has led its efforts

voluntarily and continues with the belief that nothing shall be in vain.

"I am committed to helping young girls heal so that they can step into their

purpose, free from the bondage of their circumstances. I am only one part of a

village determined to see positive change and witness a generation of young ladies rise above their situation and Take F.L.I.G.H.T." Corisa Myers, Founder
