Think About It! Thursdays: Why should you deal with your hurts and pains instead of carrying on as if nothing is bothering you? Think about it. The saying goes the more you try to hide and deny your feelings, the more your feelings will show and grow. Trying to bury your pain is a delay, growing negativity, and is not a step towards healing. #showandgrowpositivity
Think About It! Thursdays: Did you know that it only takes one? One of what, you ask? One bad habit for one good habit. Our habits are in our thinking and in our action, each influencing the other. Focusing on ridding yourself of one bad habit and in turn developing one good habit, could have a profound impact on your life. Remember, even the smallest effort can create the greatest of change. What bad habit will you begin to break today? What good habit will you work to develop? Think about it!
Here are some suggestions for helping you in breaking bad habits and developing good habits:
“Write the vision and make it plain…” Habakkuk 2:2 When we write things down, we make it real for us. So write down your goals. Envision yourself reaching them.
Focus on one habit at a time. Don’t overwhelm yourself.
Learn to walk before you try to run. In other words, start with small steps.
Be consistent. Remember habits are formed through repetition. Stay the course.

Clutter creates chaos, not only in your home but also in your mind! Think about it! Spring is a season of revitalization, of brighter days, nature’s refresher if you will. Core strength - Know who you are, your values, your inner strengths, what you stand for.
Focus and Determination - Desire, aspire, inspire, and be steadfast in your walk. Be...not easily distracted or deterred.
Balance - At the very root of the balance beam of Life is the ability to find your balance – mind, body, and spirit. If any part of your life is overwhelmed, your equilibrium is negatively affected and you are bound to topple if not addressed.

Think About It! Thursdays: You may not be where you want to be but rejoice in the fact that you’re not where you use to be and you look nothing like where you've been! Think about it! You have come so far in your personal journey. You don’t talk the way you use to talk. You don’t walk the way you use to walk. Yes, you still have a ways to go, but we pray that in all your understanding you learn to celebrate the little things, enjoy the special moments, discover your happiness and joy, and embrace your blessed destiny.
Think About It! Thursdays: Are you running someone else’s race? Think about it. People can become so engulfed in the who, what, when, where, why, and how of someone else’s life that they end up tripping and falling short of their finish line. Chase after YOUR OWN dreams and focus on YOUR race. When you have reached your destination, your finish line banner will read: (Enter Your Name Here) Has Arrived.
Think About It! Thursdays: When you refill your cup you may lose view ice chips. Think about it. When you think about a refill, often times you find that what was once there is no longer. What was once there has served its purpose and now it has diminished to allow room for bigger, better, greater. This also rings true for the people you allow in your life. Not everyone will move into the next season with you. Be aware of your environment. Evaluate those in your circle and determine if they are pouring positivity into your life or devastatingly draining from your life. Your refill will require bold moves. “Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces” Proverbs 13:20
Think About It! Thursdays: This month is National Mentoring Month and today is I AM A MENTOR DAY! Think about how you could serve as a mentor to a child. So many children could benefit from having a mentor in their life. Seeking a mentor for your child does not mean that you don’t care to spend time with. It shows you care so much about them that you want to provide all the opportunities possible f...or them to flourish.
This is what the National Mentorship Partnership has to say:
A mentor's main purpose is to help a young person define individual goals and find ways to achieve them. Since the expectations of each child will vary, the mentor's job is to encourage the development of a flexible relationship that responds to both the mentor's and the young person's needs.
By sharing fun activities and exposing a youth to new experiences, a mentor encourages positive choices, promotes high self-esteem, supports academic achievement, and introduces the young person to new ideas.
A mentor may help a young person:
• Plan a project for school; • Set career goals and start taking steps to realize them; • Make healthy choices about day-to-day life, from food to exercise and beyond; and • Think through a problem at home or school.

Think About It! Thursdays: Are you modest or humble? Think about it. Here are some words from Dr. Maya Angelou:
"I don't think modesty is a very good virtue, if it is a virtue at all. A modest person will drop the modesty in a minute. You see, it's a learned affectation. But humility comes from inside out. Humility says there was someone before me, someone found the path, someone made the road bef...ore me, and I have the responsibility of making the road for someone who is yet to come. Dr. King was really humble so that he was accessible to everybody. The smallest child could come up to him, the most powerful person could come up to him, he never changed. If somebody very rich and very powerful said, "Dr. King, I want to speak to you," he was the same person to that person as he would be to one of you who is 16, 17, if you would say, "Dr. King..." He was still accessible, gentle, powerful, humble."
