Words from our Past

Check out these Wellness Words from our Past:

FORGIVENESS

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is FORGIVENESS. What does forgiveness mean to you? Do you think that you can truly heal from past hurts if you are not willing first to forgive? Hard to do, yes! Impossible, not at all! In order to Take F.L.I.G.H.T., you must be willing to let go of what is weighing down your wings.

JOY

Wednesday's Wellness Word is JOY: Joy and happiness are cousin emotions. But joy is a deeper experience that connects you to a greater power. Happiness is often times attached to a person, place, or thing. When you have joy, you have a greater understanding, a spiritual awareness that can carry you through the ups and downs of life. #Can’tNobodyStealYourJoy

CHOICE

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is CHOICE: Contrary to popular belief, you always have a choice! Life will happen and with it there will be challenges; some greater than others. It is your decision about how you will react, how you will deal with it, how you will move forward that will build your character. “I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” ― Maya Angelou #ChooseVictoryOverDefeat

SEASON

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is SEASON: A season is defined as a period or time that is considered proper, suitable, or natural for something. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose. It is in our seasons that we build character. It is in our seasons that our spiritual awareness becomes greater. No matter what season you are in, your winter, spring summer, and fall in the cycle of your life, be encouraged. This too shall pass.

PATIENCE

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is Patience: We live in a society where instant gratification is sought in almost every area of life. But patience is rewarding! Patience is probably the shortest path to your healing. It is when you are in hurry that you aren’t allowing yourself enough time for a true breakthrough and may find yourself in a never-ending cycle. How can I be more patient with myself, you ask? Prioritize yourself. In doing so, you’re most likely to find that patience will come naturally. Patience coupled with faith sets the tone for resilience. #4theHealinginYou “Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage…" ~ Francis de Sales

BE

Wednesday's Wellness Word is BE. The dictionary defines the word "be" in the following way: to exist or live. However we know that there is a great difference between exisiting and living. We want you to BE! We want you to LIVE! Sometimes we can be so caught up with "keeping up with the Jone's" that we fail to JUST BE. Divorce that limiting mindset and BE your unique and BE-YOUtiful self. No apologies. No second thoughts. There is no other person in the world like you. You are special. The world would not be the same without you in it. Celebrate You. Be Fearless. Be Courageous #Just.BE.You.

GREATFUL

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is GREATFUL. We’d like to add a new word to the dictionary and that word is GREATFUL. No, we are not talking about Grateful – to appreciate – although we encourage you to always show gratitude – we are talking about GREATFUL. How would we define it, you ask?

GREATFUL – to possess remarkable skill and leadership quality; to be full of immeasurable potential; to be full of greatness.

Need an example? Start by looking in the mirror! #YouAreSomethingMore

STAND

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is STAND. Our living legacies are often heard saying, “If you don’t stand for something, you are likely to fall for anything.” These are wise words that should not fall on deaf ears. Taking a stand is empowering not only for you but might also empower others with similar concerns. Don’t allow fear to cripple you. Tap into your personal power and STAND up! Position yoursel...f for the receiving of your blessings. Don’t stop there. Position yourself to be a positive force in the world so that others may be blessed. Don’t let healing end with you. Work to promote positive change in your family, in your community, in other families, in other communities. How can we be angered by the absence of someone taking a stand on our behalf if we ourselves are not willing to take a stand on the behalf of others? #Standing

CHANGE

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is CHANGE. To change is to evolve. Why are you so set in your ways? No matter your age or experience, every day brings new learning and opportunities for new growth. Don’t thwart your growth because you are afraid of what change might mean in your life or how the world might view the change in you. Your transformation is not by coincidence but CAREFULLY DESIGNED (ordained) by a greater power. Be determined and reshaped! Romans 12-1-2 (The Message) So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

POTENTIAL

Wednesday's Wellness Word is POTENTIAL. "We have a powerful potential in our youth and we must have the courage to change old ideas and practices so that we may direct their power toward good ends." Mary McLeod Bethune

REFILL

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is REFILL. With every New Year comes a new opportunity to empty your cup and refill it with positivity, hope, and courage. To refill your cup doesn’t mean you erase your past, rather it means you take the lessons you have learned and create a future for yourself that you can be proud of. Build your bridges and grow your relationships. Above all else, restore and strengthen your relationship with God. The song says, “Lord, I’m available to you...” Make yourself available and allow God to work for and through you. He has plans to prosper you. Look to the heavens and ask the Lord, “Can I get a refill?” #4theHealinginYou Lord, I'm available to You. My will I give to You, I'll do what You say do, use me Lord to show someone the way and enable me to say, my storage is empty and I am available to You.

SERVE

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is SERVE. I know what you are probably thinking. “I want to lead not serve. How does serving others help me to heal?”

Here’s a tip: Our health and our life should be in a constant state of balance. There should be an equal exchange of giving and receiving. Sometimes, even small gestures that may seem insignificant in the moment may have far reaching beneficial consequences. Whether you are able to perform small acts or large, helping others can help you heal too (Insiders Health).

What occurs is a redirection of energy - turning negative, self-focused energy into positive, self-less energy. It is not about leading just to be the head but leading in order to empower the body. So be committed to empowering others. Serve those who could benefit from your efforts. Create a healing domino effect through your service. #4theHealinginYou

DISCIPLINE

Wednesday's Wellness Word is Discipline. Musician Anthony Hamilton took the words right out of our mouths today. His #TodaysGoal is "Put DISCIPLINE back on your priority list. Everything worth having is worth working for.." Well said Mr. Hamilton, straight to the point. #Discipline #4theHealinginYou

CIRCUMSTANCE

Wednesday’s Wellness Word is CIRCUMSTANCE. We encourage you today to rise above your circumstance…be beyond your situation. There will always be challenges. Life is not, and will never be, a cake walk. We encourage you to tap into your inner strength. Despite what is going on around you. Despite what others might tell you. Trust in yourself and your ability to take authority over your situation. It will not be easy. But believe us, it is possible. Believe in your possibilities and STAND UP STRAIGHT!

“Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances. You are a child of God. Stand up straight” Dr. Maya Angelou
